Deer Valley
The charm and solitude of Deer Valley’s secluded mountain setting is found just 36 miles from
the Salt Lake International Airport. Direct flights from most major cities enable you to leave home
in the morning and ski Deer Valley the same afternoon. And, to make our guests experience even more
enjoyable, the Resort invested over $6 million in improvements for the 2003-04 winter ski season, including
a major expansion of the Snow Park Lodge.
Additional space was added to the Rental Shop, our Children’s Center, Signatures store as well
as an additional store that will offer confectioneries, necessities, sundry and gifts. Deer Valley’s
commitment to the finest in food quality and service has set the standard for dining in the ski industry.
Deer Valley’s restaurants offer a variety of dining options in three rustic, elegant day lodges
- Snow Park Lodge, our base facility, Silver Lake Lodge, mid-mountain and the secluded Empire Canyon
Lodge.
Exceptional customer service, consistent quality and attention to every detail are all part of the Deer
Valley experience. And our four mountains, offering a wide variety of terrain types, allow guests more
than ample opportunity to indulge in our 350 annual inches of light, dry Utah powder.

The Canyons
Located just four miles from Park City’s historic Main Street, The Canyons offers something for
everyone with 3,500 acres of diverse terrain spread over 8 mountains. All this incredible terrain is
serviced by one of the most modern lift systems around and makes The Canyons the largest single ski
and snowboard resort in Utah. A lively pedestrian-only resort village features daily live music and
street entertainers.
The incredible beauty you saw on NBC’s Today Show and Nightly News during the 2002 winter games
was The Canyons Resort. That’s because The Canyons was selected as their broadcast center. Matt
Lauer said of his time here, “The Canyons was our Olympic home away from home. What a great stay.
What a great mountain. What a great resort!”
Skiers looking for The Canyons’ award-winning terrain park in 2003-04 will find it at a new location
and at a higher elevation - providing more consistent natural snowfall assisted by a new snowmaking
system for the park. Freeskiers and riders will access the new park by Snow Canyon Express where they
will find more than 30 features throughout the 16-acre park.
Tree skiing gets even better off of The Canyons’ Saddleback Express lift. Skiers and riders will
find even more tree skiing near The Pines, thanks to the thinning of glades. The Pines is known for
deep, untouched powder and plenty-o-trees.
On-mountain dining takes a step up at The Canyons Resort. Lookout Cabin will now feature a new, full-service
bar within the restaurant -- Located atop Lookout Peak, Lookout Cabin provides stunning views of the
Wasatch along with table-served meals daily.
